One of the main things I love about being a photographer is getting to document my past clients as their families grow. It’s always such an honor to be asked to photograph these big milestones in their lives. For this family, I’ve photographed their maternity photos, newborn photos, and seasonal family photos for the past few years!

For this maternity session, my clients wanted a coastal location that had these pretty wispy grasses in the sand dunes so they chose this beautiful beach just south of Santa Cruz. You would never know we took these in January, we got so lucky with the most perfect warm sunny weather and golden sunset.

I’ve recently started offering a 35mm film add-on for my outdoor lifestyle sessions. I love film photography and shoot with it all the time for weddings, but don’t typically use it for families because it can be hard to capture moving kids, lots of people without blinking, and just the overall unpredictable nature of film. But I’ve realized that the imperfect moments are still special and some of my clients love the look of film and the authentic, realness of it so I’m excited to offer it as an add on for future sessions!
